Abstracts online

Abstracts will be available online and not in the printed programme book

As part of our commitment to environmental responsibility, the DFSG has chosen to publish all conference abstracts exclusively online. By reducing our reliance on printed materials, we aim to significantly cut down on paper consumption, printing emissions, and transportation-related environmental impact.

This digital approach not only supports our sustainability goals but also offers greater accessibility—allowing you to search, bookmark, and reference abstracts conveniently from any device.

We thank you for supporting our efforts to make DFSG 2026 a more sustainable event.

You can access the abstracts in 2 ways: As a pdf version of the abstract book as you know it from DFSG Conferences. This will be available appr. 2 weeks before the conference. Or in the online programme where you can read individual abstracts within each session.

Anti-harassment policy

DFSG is dedicated to providing a safe and respectful conference experience for everyone. The DFSG has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind, including, without limitation, sexual harassment, bullying, physical intimidation, or discrimination of any kind. If you experience harassment, please contact he DFSG Secretariat. All reports of harassment will be taken seriously and handled confidentially.

Badges

When arriving to the conference, go to the registration desk, where you will receive your badge. All participants and exhibitors should wear the name badge in the conference area at all times. The badge must be visible.

Certificates of Attendance

Certificates of attendance will be available as self-print after the conference. A link will be provided by e-mail to all participants.

e-Posters

DGSG 2026 only accepts electronic posters.

Paper posters is not accepted for DFSG 2026 and cannot be mounted or presented.

E-posters must be submitted before the conference. Abstract submitters with accepted e-Posters will be informed directly about deadlines and format.

Language

The language for the DFSG 2026 conference is English. There is no translation available in any session.

Lost and Found

Found items should be returned to the registration desk. If you lose something, please report to this desk for assistance.

Lunch and coffee 

Lunch and coffee will be served in the exhibition area. See programme for exact time of breaks.

Mobile phones

All mobile phones must be on silent mode during the sessions.

No smoking policy

Smoking is prohibited in the venue. There are dedicated outdoor smoking areas available.

Photographing

Photographing is prohibited during sessions: Please respect the intellectual property rights of the presenter.

Prizes and Awards

Oral abstract prize

The 5 best oral abstracts will be presented in the Oral Award Presentations session.

Participants will have the opportunity to vote for the best presentation after the 5 presentations and the winner will be announced in the Award Ceremony.

1st prize: 500 EUR and a free registration for DFSG 2028

2nd prize: 300 EUR

3rd prize: 200 EUR

e-Poster prize

The eposter prize winner will be found from the posters in the session “Top 12 poster abstracts”.

The winner will be announced in the Award Ceremony.

1st prize: 100 EUR

Life Time Achievement Award

The DFSG Lifetime Achievement award will be announced in the Life Time Achievement Award Session.

First Time International Presenter travel grant

Applies to nurses, podiatrists, research fellows, doctors in training or students aged 40 or under on 24 September 2026.

After acceptance of abstract a letter must be sent to ks@dfsg.org explaining the reason for applying for a grant, together with a confirmation email from the consultant or supervisor at the University that the applicant is a first time international presenter. Only limited grants are available and the executive committee reserves the right to refuse without giving any reasons.

The letter and confirmation email must be sent to ks@dfsg.org by 1 August 2026

Amount: 200 EUR

The receipients of the grant will been informed before the conference.

Promotional and social media material

Promotional and social media material for the DFSG 2026 conference will be available closer to the conference.

Social events

WELCOME NETWORKING

Thursday 24th September after the programme ends.

The welcome networking takes place in the exhibition area. Please note that the event is not a dinner.

The event is included in the registration fee, no pre-registration necessary.

CONFERENCE DINNER

Date: 25th September 2026

Venue: To be announced

The dinner is not included in the registration fee.

Tickets: Tickets must be purchased before the conference. Price to be announced.

GOODBYE NETWORKING

Saturday 26th September 206 after the programme ends.

Enjoy a snack and drink with your colleagues before leaving the venue.

Included in the registration fee, no pre-registration necessary.

Speaker Information

Please bring your presentation to the Auditorium before your session starts. We recommend you upload your presentation in a break at least 2 Hours before your session.

A technician will be present to assist in the upload if necessary.

Please bring your presentation on a USB. Use of personal laptops is not allowed. Unless otherwise agreed all presentations will be deleted after the conference to secure that no copyright issues will arise at the end of the conference.

Venue

The DFSG 2026 will take place at the Auditorium Al Duomo.

Please note that this is not a hotel and that accomodation is not included in the registration fee.
