Potsdam is part of the Intercity and Regional railway system of the Deutsche Bahn. Long-distance trains stop at Berlin Zoologischer Garten station, from where you can reach the Potsdam main station within 45 minutes when you take the S-bahn urban railway. You'll get here even faster if you take a regional express train, which goes on to Magdeburg or Brandenburg/Havel.
